Truck left December 23 and reached Surigao December 24. As of December 24, shipment has been delayed in Surigao due to port queue and weather (some navy vessels have been deployed back to Cebu and now the navy in Surigao-Siargao are operating with less ships that caused backlogs with the scheduling). Advised to wait December 26/27 for next schedule.
Please bear in mind that with the extent of the devastation of Category 5 Typhoon Odette (Rai) that virtually wiped out the entire island, the work that it entails to get all the help to Siargao is massive. As we see it, the Navy and Philippine Coast Guard are doing their best to help everyone to the best of their abilities and resources at hand.

December 28, 2021

Relief goods were distributed to families in Danao and small neighboring villages along the road towards Datu (this is the first time this area has received help). Worst hit families whos homes had been decimated received additional "temporary shelter package" containing blanket, mosquito net, sleeping mat, solar lamp.

Our on-the-ground team is working to help where help is most needed, rain or shine.
Thank you to our on-the-ground volunteers led by Ikit Agudo for working hard in identifying badly affected areas that have not received any help yet. This is made possible with direct communication with the LGU and the different Baranggays. The team drive to different areas to check and assess the situation in different communities.
